Where to stay in Alanya: Kleopatra, Oba or the western strip?

Alanya is three holidays in one town — a legendary city beach, quiet eastern suburbs and a 30 km resort strip. The zones compared with verified scores and guest videos.

Alanya confuses first-timers because it isn't one place. "Alanya hotels" spread across 30+ kilometres of coast — a buzzing city wrapped around a legendary beach, quiet garden suburbs to the east, and a self-contained resort strip far to the west. Our directory lists 294 Alanya-area hotels (80 five-star, 43 with curated guest videos); here's how the zones actually differ.

The short answer

Stay at Kleopatra / the centre if you want city energy — Türkiye's best urban beach, the castle, the harbour and a thousand restaurants on foot.

Stay in Oba or Kestel if you want Alanya's conveniences at arm's length — calmer, greener, cheaper, with the centre a short dolmuş ride away.

Stay on the western strip (Okurcalar–Avsallar–İncekum–Türkler) if you want a classic resort holiday — big all-inclusives on their own beaches, 25–40 minutes from town.

Kleopatra and the centre

The beach itself is the argument: golden, sweeping, backed by the Taurus and free to everyone. Hotels here are compact city blocks, and the best pick their niche: Sunprime C-Lounge is the adults-only benchmark at 9.6 from 337 stays; Kleopatra Ramira (8.8) does quiet all-inclusive a street from the sand; Xperia Saray Beach (9.0) sits on the beach itself. Budget four-stars here routinely outscore resort five-stars — you're paying for location, and the location delivers.

Oba and Kestel

East of the centre the pace drops: family apartments, garden hotels, locals' cafés. Kaila City (8.5) is the zone's price-performance pick, per its own reviewers. Beaches are narrower and partly pebbled — you trade sand for calm and money in your pocket.

The western strip

This is where the brochure Alanya lives. Numa Bay Exclusive (9.2) and AQI Pegasos Royal (9.4, a three-hotels-in-one campus) anchor Avsallar-İncekum's fine sand; Oz Hotels Sui (9.0) headlines Okurcalar; and in Türkler stands Mylomethe most-filmed hotel in our entire directory, with 22 curated guest videos. The catch is distance: town evenings mean a 30-minute ride, so pick a hotel you won't want to leave. The videos make that audit easy.

The practical math

No car, first visit, mixed interests: Kleopatra — nothing in resort-land replaces stepping onto that beach and into that harbour. Committed all-inclusive week with kids: the western strip, chosen by video. Longer stays and repeat visitors: Oba's value is quietly excellent.

Our verdict

Alanya's superpower is that all three holidays cost less than their equivalents in Belek or Bodrum. Decide which town you actually want — city, suburb or strip — then let the guest videos below show you the pools, beaches and buffets as travellers found them.
