Antalya's airport sits almost exactly between its two great resort strips, and the transfer you choose defines the holiday. Turn left for Lara: a boulevard of themed mega-palaces. Turn right for Belek: golf lawns, pine woods and the highest resort standard in the country.
The short answer
Pick Lara if you want spectacle and convenience — palace-sized hotels with wave pools and aqua parks, 15–20 minutes from the airport, with Antalya's old town a taxi away.
Pick Belek if the resort is the destination — bigger grounds, championship golf, and the coast's most polished five-star product.
What the numbers say
Lara is small but supersized: 21 hotels in our directory and 16 of them five-star, nearly all built to astonish. Mardan Palace (9.6) is a literal palace with İstanbul-inspired architecture; Lara Barut Collection holds a 9.6 across 2,600 verified stays — one of the strongest volume-backed scores in Türkiye; Concorde De Luxe is shaped like an aircraft and rated 9.2 by more than 5,500 guests; the Delphin complex's water slides have their own 313k-view video. This is all-inclusive as theatre.
Belek counts 44 hotels — 38 of them five-star, an 86% ratio unmatched anywhere on the coast, with the strip's highest average verified score (8.7). Cullinan (9.6) leads the new luxury wave, Kaya Palazzo and Maxx Royal (both 9.4) anchor the golf-luxury establishment, and Regnum Carya is where the celebrities check in. A dozen championship courses sit behind the beach.
Beaches
Lara has the famous sand: a long, wide, genuinely sandy shore that the mega-hotels front directly. Belek's beaches are groomed and excellent but resort-made; the compensation is space — grounds in Belek sprawl in a way Lara's tighter plots can't.
Beyond the sunbed
Lara's trump card is the city: Kaleiçi's old harbour, the Düden waterfalls and real Antalya restaurants are 20–30 minutes away, and the Land of Legends theme park sits between the strips. Belek's answer is golf, spa scale, and Aspendos — the world's best-preserved Roman theatre — 20 minutes inland. Families with mixed ages usually find more to do from Lara; golfers and resort-purists won't leave Belek.
Prices
Like for like, Lara generally undercuts Belek — its giants compete hard on rate, while Belek's flagship tier (Maxx Royal, Regnum, Cullinan) is the most expensive real estate on the coast. Both strips get dramatically cheaper outside July–August, and several hotels on each run heated winter concepts.
Our verdict
