✓Great location - close enough to Sultanahmet -but not too touristy

!Overhead shower did not work

!We are extremely disappointed with our stay. For several reasons, we had a very unpleasant experience with both the staff and the property itself, and we cannot recommend it. We booked this hotel four months in advance because, at the time, it had a much higher rating. Only a few weeks before our trip, we noticed that its score had dropped significantly. Concerned by the many negative reviews, we asked whether it was possible to cancel our reservation, but our request was refused. Ironically, when we finally arrived at around 1:00 a.m., the room we had booked four months earlier was no longer available. We were temporarily given a double room and told we would have to move the following day. This caused major inconvenience, as we already had plans early the next morning and had to waste precious time packing, unpacking and reorganizing our luggage. To make up for their mistake, we were promised an excellent replacement room. Instead, we were given a tiny room that was clearly below standard: the bathroom flush button was broken, the shower was missing one of its glass panels, there were no toiletries, and the overall condition felt like an emergency spare room rather than accommodation prepared for paying guests. This was especially disappointing considering that the staff had previously justified refusing our cancellation request by claiming they were "highly professional." Breakfast was another major disappointment. The coffee came from a vending machine and was barely drinkable, while the pastries were among the worst we tasted during our entire stay. Our room was on the fifth floor, and on several occasions the elevator was out of service, forcing us to climb five flights of stairs. The hotel's location was also far less convenient than expected. Although it may look reasonably central on a map, it sits well below the main tourist areas. Reaching almost any place of interest meant at least a 15-minute walk uphill on very steep streets.
