A NIGHTMARE STAY – HORRIBLE KITCHEN SMELLS, UNBEARABLE NOISE & TERRIBLE BOOKING.COM SUPPORT! I booked the Presidential Suite at Ramada Encore by Wyndham Istanbul Basin Express, expecting a peaceful and comfortable stay with my family. Instead, it turned into an absolute nightmare! 1. HORRIBLE KITCHEN SMELLS EVERYWHERE! The rooms were constantly filled with strong cooking odors, apparently due to an issue with the hotel’s AC and ventilation system. Our Presidential Suite had no windows, and the first night literally felt like sleeping inside a kitchen! 2. UNBEARABLE LOBBY NOISE REACHING THE 6TH FLOOR! We could clearly hear everything happening in the lobby: plates, forks, spoons, glasses, coffee machines, children crying, and adults talking and laughing. The noise was so disturbing that I had to call reception and ask them to control the lobby activity. My entire family, especially my children, were distressed and unable to sleep peacefully. 3. FAULTY AC AND AN UNSUCCESSFUL ROOM CHANGE The AC in one bedroom of our Presidential Suite was not working. The following day, we were moved to two ordinary connecting rooms, but the situation was no better! One room smelled strongly of kitchen odors, while the other had an even worse smell of onions. Three days of horrible smells! The hotel promised a technician would come the following morning, but nobody showed up. Nothing was fixed despite repeated complaints. 4. PAID FOR A PRESIDENTIAL SUITE BUT RECEIVED TWO ORDINARY ROOMS! I paid Booking.com the full Presidential Suite rate but ended up staying in two ordinary connecting rooms because of the hotel’s failures! No refund, discount, price adjustment, or compensation was offered by the hotel. How is it acceptable to charge for a Presidential Suite while providing ordinary rooms with the same unacceptable conditions? I intend to formally request a refund and appropriate compensation from Booking.com.
