Olimpic Hotel

✓The hotel is wonderful and beautifully located in the heart of the Fatih district. It is just a 3-minute walk from the tram station, and about 7 minutes from the Sultan Ahmed Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The staff are extremely respectful—from the reception team and the breakfast staff to the housekeeping team. I would like to specifically mention Mr. Saleh Al-Naimi from the reception, who was incredibly helpful. I arrived at the hotel around 8:00 AM, and although there were no rooms available at the time, he told me to go enjoy breakfast while he took care of things. By the time I finished breakfast and returned, my room was ready. Thank you, Mr. Saleh Al-Naimi If I visit Istanbul again, I will book this hotel.

✓Am ersten Tag nach unserer Ankunft gab es ein Missverständnis bezüglich der Unterkunft. Aufgrund des Sturms der Vortage mussten andere Gäste in unserem Zimmer untergebracht werden, sodass wir die ersten drei Tage in einem anderen Zimmer wohnten. Erst nach drei Tagen bekamen wir ein passendes Zimmer. Als Entschuldigung für die Unannehmlichkeiten erhielten wir einen kostenlosen Transfer zum Flughafen und 15 % Rabatt auf das Abendessen im Hotelrestaurant. Die Hygiene war in Ordnung, wir bekamen täglich frische Handtücher. Das Frühstück war gut, ein klassisches, abwechslungsreiches türkisches Frühstück, und alles war sehr lecker. Die Hotelangestellten waren sehr freundlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit und bemühten sich wirklich sehr, unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten.

!Everything else. Our room had a water leak so we had to move to a different. On booking.com are pictures of a balcony, when we arrived at the hotel they told us there is no room with a balcony and that they “tried” to delete those pictures months ago. Well..that was the only reason why we booked this hotel. They didnt offer us anything in compensation. Our new room was very different and the bathroom smelled like shit since the beginning of our stay and the hotel didnt do anything about it. In addition to that it was also super hard to open the bathroom door cause something was broken. Now to the biggest and most concerning problem. On the last night also our room had a water leak at one point and it was dropping from the ceiling at midnight. After we ask the hotel for a different room, they told us they were booked out and couldnt help us. After 2 1/2 hours (!!) discussing with the owner, he screamed at us and told us we will not get a different hotel because it was too expensive and that we should call the police. He was very threatening and me and my wife were absolutely scared for life at 2am in the morning. Never ever would I recommend this hotel.
