La Porte de Taksim

✓I had a great stay at La Porte de la Taksim in Istanbul. The location is fantastic — just a 3-minute walk to Taksim Square, which is full of restaurants, cafés, and shops. It’s also very close to the metro and bus stops, making it super easy to get around the city. The hotel is clean, modern, and cozy. While the rooms are on the smaller side, they’re comfortable and well-equipped. Room service is scheduled once every three days, but the staff are happy to accommodate earlier requests if needed. A special shout-out to Selman, Mehdi, Zekeriya, and Emre at the reception — they were all incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout the stay. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a central, convenient, and friendly place to stay in Istanbul.

✓The location is perfect for a 24-hour or 48 hour layover stay in Istanbul, especially as it is almost around the corner from the Hava-ist bus. The managers are very nice, and they've done a good job of giving the hotel a boutique-y look. It is walking distance to many reasonably priced restaurants. For the price, the bathroom is nicely appointed. My only complaints are that the bedsheets could be a touch softer, and the owners may want to post a list of recommended restaurants in the neighborhood that won't gouge tourists. Some of them are clearly tourist traps with very aggressive people trying to lure tourists in. As locals are dining there, I assume that those restaurants by the hotels have different prices for locals and tourists.

✓The receptionist his name was Mehdi. He was exceptional, courteous, professional, and went out of the way to help us out. He’s the reason the hotel is five star
