✓The location is perfect in my opinion (if you don't mind climbing the hill each day): you can hardly find much quieter streets close to the city center. The staff was very kind: we actually got a better room than the one we booked as there was availability (though see the downsides section regarding the "better" room; but we appreciated the gesture).

!First of all, the facilities for the hotel are rather overstated on booking.com: - Soundproofing: non-existent, I could hear everything that happened on the street and noises from within the hotel, as well. Luckily, it was generally a quiet street and the muezzin was also a bit further away, so it was not terrible. Those who cannot sleep with noise would probably find it very irritating. - SPA & wellness facilities: it was under reconsideration or whatever, it was not available - Bathroom amenities: there is a nice list of amenities, but in fact there was a single soap (it was surely shampoo, conditioner, and maybe even tooth paste at the same time). We even had to ask for toilet paper when it ran out. The bathroom was generally in a state that could tolerate some upgrades. There are no blinds on the windows and the curtains do not block the light perfectly. Furthermore, there was a motion-lamp in the street right above our window which activated upon any motion in the street. We had to put extra blankets on the windows as we could not sleep with the all-night blinking. The breakfast was okay but by no means excellent. Not buffet style, a single plate served. The food served was not of impressive quality. Getting (almost) the same plate every morning is not too interesting. It sounds so easy to have two or three variants. To sum up, the property looked better on booking.com than in reality, thus, it was a bit of a disappointment. I have already stayed at considerably better places in the same price range in Istanbul.
