!We chose this hotel because, as part of the Hilton brand, we expected not only comfortable accommodation but also the high standard of service associated with Hilton. Unfortunately, while the hotel itself is beautiful, the service was a huge disappointment. Our first issue was with parking. When we arrived, the valet told us the service was a **one-time fee of €10**. However, at check-out we were charged the same fee **for every day of our stay**. When I questioned this, the receptionist claimed it was actually a parking fee, although this was never explained beforehand or displayed anywhere. To make matters worse, I had asked the evening before for our car to be ready in the morning because we were leaving early. When we came down, nothing had been arranged. The second disappointment happened on my birthday. I don't expect hotels to celebrate guests' birthdays, but my children had asked the reception to arrange for a slice of cake to be delivered to our room while we were out as a surprise. Unfortunately, this simple request was completely forgotten. Finally, we decided to pay extra for breakfast. It turned out to be the biggest disappointment of all. The selection was extremely limited, there was almost no variety, and the only fruit available was apples (the only choice was between red and green). The rooms and interior design are excellent, but service is what guests remember most. Sadly, the service throughout our stay fell far below what we expected from a Hilton property.
