Artefes Hotel Old City& Spa

✓Very good location. Friendly staff. Everything was very clean. Breakfast is good, with many local options, although expect intense flavors not typical of western breakfast. Rooftop is a plus.

!The room was very clean, although the smell of cleaning products can be intense at times. Despite the cleanliness, there may be some sewage smell coming from the bathroom, probably due to being an old building in the old part of the city.

✓Good location, friendly staff, especially Ibrahim was very helpful. Others too. Rooftop was accessible anytime, with good views and atmosphere. Building looks traditional from the outside. Lots happening nearby. 10 minutes walk to all the tourist places.

!Breakfast could be improved. Toilet seat was new but wasn't very functional.

✓The hotel is located in a very quiet street with many restaurants and cafes within a short walk. It is also close to the main attractions like the Blue mosque. The Galata bridge is about a 30 minute walk away. My wife and I were booked into room 401 which is the suite which comes with a balcony. From the balcony there are great views over the water (though there is a semi derelict building opposite which spoils the view somewhat). We stayed at the Artefes early October 2026 for five nights at the end a 15 day driving tour of the country so we stayed in around a dozen hotels in total. I would say that the breakfast at this hotel was easily the best of the holiday. There was a great selection of the usual breakfast food but also each day there were a constantly changing selection of very tasty additional items so there was something new every morning..

!The coffee machine at breakfast was frequently not working. Staff tried to fix it but repairs were only temporary.
