Pick Belek if the hotel is the holiday — you want the highest resort standard in Türkiye, giant pool complexes, championship golf and a 15-minute airport transfer, and you're comfortable paying for it.
Pick Kemer if scenery matters as much as the buffet — pine forests, dramatic mountains, coves with deep clear water — and you want five-star all-inclusive at a noticeably lower price.
What the numbers say
Belek is small and elite: just 44 published hotels in our directory, 38 of them five-star — an 86% five-star ratio, unmatched anywhere on the coast — with a 8.7/10 average verified guest score, the highest of any major resort area we track. The top end is remarkable: Cullinan Belek scores 9.6 from 254 verified stays, Kaya Palazzo and Maxx Royal both hold 9.4, and The Land of Legends Nickelodeon hotel pairs a 9.3 with the country's most spectacular theme-and-water park.
Kemer plays a different game: 160 published hotels, 67 five-star, average 7.7. The stars of the strip are the big club resorts — Corendon Hydros Club (8.8 from more than 1,500 verified stays) and Armas Labada (8.8 from nearly 1,000) — which deliver the full all-inclusive programme at prices Belek simply doesn't offer. The guest videos make the difference visible: Belek footage is manicured lawns and swim-up suites; Kemer footage is mountains filling the frame behind every pool.
Beaches
Honest talk: neither is a natural sandy paradise. Belek's beaches are wide, sandy and groomed — the resorts imported and maintain them, and they're excellent. Kemer's beaches are mostly pebble, which puts some families off, but the flip side is water clarity that sand coasts can't match — the snorkelling-from-the-beach is the best on this side of Antalya. Water shoes solve the pebble problem for about €10.
Beyond the sunbed
Belek's answer is golf — a dozen championship courses — plus The Land of Legends park a shuttle-ride away, and Aspendos, the best-preserved Roman theatre in the world, twenty minutes inland. Kemer's answer is nature: the Tahtalı cable car to 2,365 m, the flames of Chimaera at Çıralı, the Lycian ruins of Phaselis in a pine bay you can swim in, and Göynük canyon. Families with teenagers tend to find Kemer's excursion menu more exciting; golfers won't be argued out of Belek.
Getting there
This one is lopsided. Belek is 20–30 minutes from Antalya Airport — the shortest transfer of any major Turkish resort area. Kemer is 60–75 minutes on a winding coastal road. After a 3am charter flight with kids, that difference is real.
Our verdict
Belek is the premium option and prices accordingly — if the budget stretches, it delivers the most polished resort holiday in the country. Kemer gives up some polish and the sandy beach, and gets back scenery, excursions and a materially lower bill.
